2 bodies found at the former Versace mansion on anniversary of Versace’s homicide
Former Gianni Versace mansion becomes a crime scene as two men are found dead inside the hotel room in Miami Beach on Wednesday afternoon, the police reported.
The mansion was the location of Versace’s death, he was killed outside his home exactly 24 years ago on July 15th, 1997.
Miami Beach police rushed to The Villa Casa Casuarina Hotel, the current name of the late designer’s mansion, at about 1:20 p.m. following a call from housekeeping reporting the discovery of the two bodies.
“At this time, the scene is contained to the hotel room and detectives have launched a death investigation,” police said.
The renowned designer purchased the house in 1992 and conducted renovations worth $33 million. These improvements included an expansion of the south wing, a pool, and a garden, highlighted by listing agents when the property was put on the market again in 2012. The family of Versace has sold the building in 2000.
