Amazon delivery drivers forced surveilled by AI for efficiency

For the sake of efficiency, Amazon is telling, “Delivery drivers should agree to be surveilled by AI or will have to lose the job.”

The company has installed machine learning-powered surveillance cameras in the delivery vans earlier this year to monitor and control the activity of its workers.

Amazon delivery drivers in the US now have to sign ‘biometric consent’ forms to continue working for the company.

The data that drivers must consent to be collected includes photographs used to verify their identity, vehicle location and movements, potential traffic violations, and risky driver behavior.
