To Catch a Killer is a forthcoming American thriller film directed by Damián Szifron and written by Szifron and Jonathan Wakeham. Shailene Woodley, Ben Mendelsohn, and Jovan Adepo star. Damián Szifron, an Argentine director, makes his English-language debut with the film. Vertical Entertainment plans to release it on April, 2023.

The film set on New Year’s Eve in Baltimore, follows a widespread shooting by an unidentified gunman. The attacks resemble serial homicides, yet there is no evidence of the culprit and the victims are unrelated to one another. The FBI becomes involved in a crime of this magnitude, but even they are at a lost on where to go for leads to find this lunatic.

Eleanor, a very skilled young police officer, is brought into the FBI team by Investigator Lammark to assist with the investigation. Eleanor’s history, however, displeases the chief, who believes she fits “the profile of people we arrest, not hire.” And yet, he thinks that she is the only person who can likely track down this criminal. Can Eleanor battle her personal demons while seeking one? Or will she get involved in the murderer’s intentions as a result of her mind becoming intertwined with his?
