Netflix’s You renewed for a fifth and final season; Here’s what we can expect in from the next season
Good News! After his voyage over the water, Joe Goldberg is prepared to go hunting once more. It comes as no surprise that You, the wildly popular Netflix series starring Pen Badgley, has been extended for a fifth and final season given the show’ phenomenal popularity on the streaming service. Between its whodunnit first half and the shocking second half, which featured Badgley’s directorial debut and a twist that the actor thought was “refreshing” for the series, it attracted an astounding 75.81 hours of viewing time after Part 2’s debut and maintained its position in the Top 10 in the weeks that followed.
Moreover, Joe has been a seemingly unstoppable murderer for four seasons of the television series You, which is based on the Caroline Kepnes novel series. His pursuit of Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail), whom he first became fixated on in Season 1, has since evolved into a succession of obsessions, with him killing everybody who stands in his way of getting any closer to his intended victim. In Season 3, he wed the chef Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), who had her own dark secrets. Nevertheless, he reverted to his old ways by chasing Marienne (Tati Gabrielle), and in the end killed Love after her effort to finally get him. He recently adopted the name Professor Jonathan Moore in an effort to fit in with London’s intellectual community during Season 4, but he soon became fixated once again and had to face the “Eat the Rich” killer, who wasn’t quite who spectators had first assumed. Changing Joe’s perspective in Part 1 of the season was a big risk, but it paid off handsomely in terms of both viewership and critical acclaim, especially with Part 2.
Following are a few details on what we can expect from the upcoming season of Netflix’s You.
You Season 5: Is it really happening?

She revealed that she, the writing staff, and co-creator Greg Berlanti were already considering alternatives for how to follow up the enormous new season after the publication of Season 4 Part 1. She also mentioned working toward the ultimate objective of successfully prosecuting Joe. In an effort to prevent the show from growing old, Badgley said that Season 5 would be the last.
