Here are 5 life lessons that ‘How I Met Your Mother’ gave us for life
It was 2005 when we first saw these American comic TV series first air on American television and to date, we are still in love with the show. The comic plotline along with great narrative gave us scenes where we laughed our cheeks out, cried oceans, and even fell in love with the characters. However, the one thing that inspired us the most is the life-changing lessons that the show gave us.
How I Met Your Mother is not just a show for its fans but the classic romance and lessons created a never-ending cult for the show. Today, we will be sorting out the top five of our favorite inspiring lines from the show.

It’s not about winning it’s about compromising!
During one episode of How I Met Your Mother season four, Lily and Marshall were having a fight over doing the dirty dishes. However, after a series of heated arguments, the couple comes down to agreeing that it’s not about who wins rather about compromising on something that can ruin a relationship. As per the HIMYM characters, it’s certainly about the person you love not who gets up in the end. “I guess sometimes you just have to set your ego aside and remember that the love you have for that other person is way more important than winning” Lily and Marshall.

Love comes to those who don’t wander around looking for it!
“You can’t force destiny. If it’s gonna happen, it’s gonna happen” Ted. It is actually right! The biggest lesson that the character of Ted taught us is the real meaning of love. In the series, Ted tried his level best to get a happy ending fairytale with the princess of his dreams but failed miserably. Although, at the end of the show love came to him when he wasn’t running after it. I believe there’s someone out there for everyone and when the time is right they will come to you.

“Kids, your grandma always used to say to me, ‘Nothing good happens after 2:00 a.m’ and she was right” Ted.
In the episode where Robin calls ted over to her place and he lies that Victoria and he had broken up. However, afterward Robin and Victoria both find out the lie. What is had to do with time? Well, the time is just a metaphor used to signify that late night is too early or too late to make an important decision, as your heart and mind are not in right place. Instead, JUST GO TO BED!

Rome wasn’t built in a day!
In the series, this is one of the best things that Robin taught us! One cannot get their dream job overnight, you have earned it and grind for it. Throughout the whole season, Robin flushed herself down to get her dream job as a Tv anchor but she was successful at the end of the show. Finally, Robin got what she was looking for after series of hard work and patients teaching us the values of believing and having faith.

Keep the people you want in your life!Ā
In the series How I Met Your Mother one thing we learned from the characters is the value of having people in your life. The time when Robin and Barney were fighting whether Gary Blauman should be at their wedding or not, Gary walks away and the group realizes the worth of a real friend. This is where Ted gives us, the legendary dialogue “You’ll be shocked when you discover how easy it is in life to part ways with people forever. That’s why when you find someone you want to keep around, you do something about it.” You hear you, Ted!
