John Ortiz all set to play the lead role in ABC’s drama pilot ‘Promised Land’

John Ortiz is all set to play the lead role in ABC’s drama pilot episode Promised Land. The show is written by Matt Lopez, which holds a storyline about two Latinx families, jostling for wealth and power in California’s Sonoma Valley. This project is an epic, generation-spanning drama.

The lead role of Joe Sandoval will be played by Ortiz. Joe Sandoval is the patriarch of the Sandoval family. It is a wealthy vineyard-owning family in the Sonoma Valley.

Joe took a small vineyard owned by a former opponent and turned it into a wine and beverage empire. He estranged many, even his own family members.

Sandoval is not just a savvy corporate fighter but one who can do every job possible on a vineyard. Though he finds himself at an intersection when a foe from his past resurfaces.

The other cast members in the pilot are Mariel Molino as Camila Sandoval who plays the youngest daughter of the Sandoval family, Christina Ochoa as Veronica Sandoval,  who is the eldest daughter of the Sandovals. And there is Andres Velez Carlos Rincón who is a young immigrant coming to the Heritage Vineyard in the look out for a better life.

Lopez is the executive producer along with Adam Kolbrenner of Lit Entertainment Group. ABC Signature is the studio.

Currently, John Ortiz is filming the Paramount feature The In-Between with Joey King.
