Mark and Donnie Wahlberg’s mother Alma Wahlberg passes away at the age of 78

Alma Wahlberg, mother to actors Mark and Donnie Wahlberg, passed away aged 78, as revealed by the brothers on Sunday. Alma appeared on the A&E series ‘Wahlburgers,’ which was a long running show.

Mark and Donnie revealed that their mother suffered from various health issues that included dementia. The brothers took to Instagram on Sunday to pay their mother Alma a tribute.

He captioned it, “I’m so blessed to have been brought into this world by, raised by, taught by and set on my life’s path by, such an amazing woman,” wrote Donnie, 51. “My mom Alma’s joy for life, love and people — combined with a pride in her humble beginnings and refusal to forget where she came from — undoubtedly shaped me into the man that I am.”

Donnie praised his mother for having rightly raised him and his other eight siblings. He said that she never apologized for being who she was, even though she never put herself before anyone else.

He added, “She kicked our butts if we messed up, kicked anyone else’s butts if they messed with us. Taught us right, made us pay the price when we were wrong.”

Mark Wahlberg shared a picture of his mother on Instagram captioning it as,  “My angel. Rest in peace.”

Donnie took to Instagram to inform fans about Alma’s health alongside an adorable picture of him embracing his mother in July 2020, captioning it as, “During my visit, she didn’t remember much, and was often confused, but somehow she was still Alma,” wrote Donnie. “She still lights up a room. She still made me smile. She’s still stubborn. And she still loves her baby Donnie.”
