Kate Winslet says her daughter Mia Threapleton’s acting slipped “under the radar”
Actress Kate Winslet has disclosed that her daughter Mia Threapleton can “slip under the radar” and followed her mother’s footsteps in her acting.
The ‘Titanic’ alum talked to British TV host Lorraine Kelly on Monday, revealing to her that her daughter is presently working on a TV series in the Czech Republic.
“That’s been a wonderful thing that I think I knew was coming,” said Winslet. “I think I always suspected. And then sure enough, a couple years ago, she turned around and said, ‘I think I would like to give it a go.”
“What’s been really great for her is that she has a different surname so that initial job out of the gate, she slipped right under the radar,” added Winslet.
“The people who cast her had absolutely no idea that she was my daughter. And of course, that was my biggest fear and most important for her self esteem,” the Oscar-winning actress told Kelly.
‘The Reader’ star also told about her appearanceĀ in a TV series “Mare of Easttown.” In that show, she plays the role of a detective in small-town Pennslyvania and also about her collaboration again with director James Cameron on “Avatar 2.”
The two have worked together in the past on the 1997 blockbuster movie ‘Titanic.’
Recently, Winslet also worked in the film “Ammonite.” There she plays the unsung pioneer of paleontology, Mary Anning.
