Stone Foltz: 8 people charged in BGSU fraternity hazing death

In a connection with fraternity hazing death at Bowling Green State University, eight people have now been charged.

On the evening of March 4th, Stone Foltz, 20, died following an alleged Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity event.

As per the authorities, the fraternity gave pledges bottles of alcohol and encouraged everyone to finish it, on March 4.

They included Foltz, who died three days later.

According to the attorney for Foltz’s parents, Foltz, a sophomore who was a business major, was dropped off at his apartment by the fraternity only to be found unconscious by his roommates. He was put on life support and died after his parents arranged for his organs to be donated.

Death was ruled an accident due to a fatal level of alcohol intoxication during a hazing event by Lucas County Coroner.

Now, eight people have been charged in connection to his death.

  • Jacob Krin, 20, Delaware, Ohio, charged with first-degree felony involuntary manslaughter, third-degree felony involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide, felonious assault, hazing, and failing to comply with underage alcohol law and obstructing official business.
  • Troy Henricksen, 23, of Grove City, Ohio, charged with third-degree felony involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide, tampering with evidence, hazing, and failing to comply with underage alcohol law.
  • Daylen Dunsen, 20, of Cleveland, Ohio, charged with third-degree felony involuntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence, hazing and failing to comply with underage alcohol law, and obstructing official business.
  • Canyon Caldwell, 21, Dublin, Ohio, charged with third-degree felony involuntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence, hazing and failing to comply with underage alcohol law, and obstructing official business.
  • Niall Sweeney, 21, of Erie, Pennsylvania, charged with third-degree felony involuntary manslaughter, hazing and failing to comply with underage alcohol law, and obstructing official business.
  • Jarret Prizel, 19, of Olean, New York, charged with third-degree felony involuntary manslaughter, hazing and failing to comply with underage alcohol law.
  • Aaron Lehane, 21 of Loveland, Ohio, charged with tampering with evidence, hazing and failing to comply with underage alcohol law, and obstructing official business.
  • Benjamin Boyers, 21, of Sylvania, Ohio, charged with hazing and failing to comply with underage alcohol law.

The fraternity has been expelled and the university said that the Pi Kappa Alpha chapter would never be recognized again.
