ESPN’s Paul Richardson to hold two new positions at Disney

Paul Richardson, who leads the Human Resources for ESPN, has been made the Senior Executive VP and Chief Human Resources Officer at Walt Disney Co.

Effective from July 1, Richardson will succeed Jayne Parker, after she declared the end of her 33-year service by the end of June.

“Paul Richardson is a supremely talented, strategic and personable leader with a deep passion for enriching the employee experience by championing the unique talents and perspectives of our diverse, global workforce,” CEO Bob Chapek remarked on Thursday.

“Their exceptional talent, ingenuity, diverse backgrounds and experiences, and deep sense of commitment even in the most trying times are truly an inspiration. I look forward to supporting them and working with our HR leaders around the world as we advance the company’s ambitious business goals and further cement Disney’s well-earned reputation as one of the most desirable places to work,” Richardson said.

Apart from leading ESPN’s HR since 2007, from 2011-2017, he was also the first chief diversity officer at Disney.

He was also involved in Disney’s 2019 Black Employee & Consumer Experience, that drew light to enhancing Black employee representation and multiplying  their opportunities.
