Dick Wolf and Carol Mendelssohn’s ‘Law and Order: For The Defense’ receives series order at NBC

Dick Wolf has partnered with Carol Mendelssohn to release yet another series of ‘The Law and Order’ franchise.

The series ‘Law and Order: For The Defense’ has received a straight series order by NBC.

The crime drama series will revolve around the criminal defense aspects and will put the attorneys to test while also evaluating the criminal justice system.

According to Deadline, Dick Wolf says, “This new show is exciting for me personally. We spent the last 30 years on shows that played offense. Now it will be great to play defense, and being able to do it with Carol is an honor and an opportunity for both of us to do television that hasn’t been done before.”

The legal drama series will be executive produced by Dick Wolf and Carol Mendelssohn along with Arthur Forney, Julie Weitz and Peter Jankowski and produced by The Universal Studio Franchise, ‘Universal Television’ and ‘Wolf Entertainment’.

The President of NBC’s Universal Television and Programming Lisa Katz said, “We can’t wait to bring audiences the latest chapter of Law & Order, which will explore a different angle of the criminal justice system. We’re excited about Dick Wolf’s perpetually thought-provoking approach as well his collaboration with Carol Mendelsohn, who we have been eager to do a series with for a long time.”

NBC has given a series order to this Law and Order installment for the second consecutive year after ‘Law & Order: SVU offshoot’ and ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’.
