Everything you need to know about Taylor Swift and her love for her purr-fect friends
Taylor Swift is an American singer, actress and a songwriter, born on December 13, 1989, in West Reading, Pennsylvania to father Scott Kingsley Swift and mother Andrea Swift.
The ‘Love Story’ singer loves nothing more than music and even above that are her cats!
Her feline friends are as equal celebrities now, who play a major role in her life, being the biggest influence who motivated her to play the role of Bombalurina in the movie ‘Cats.’
Sharing about her sweet bond with them to ‘Time’ in 2019, Taylor said, “I have cats. I’m obsessed with them. I love my cats so much that when a role came up in a movie called Cats, I just thought, like, I gotta do this. Like, this is my calling in life to do this—for the ladies.”
Praising her cats, she further added, “They’re a joy to live with. They’re very dignified. They’re independent. They’re very capable of dealing with their own life”.
Swift is a momma to three cats, namely Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson and Benjamin Button.
Each of them are named after some inspiring characters that are close to Taylor’s heart; Meredith is named after the character in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, Olivia is named after Mariska Hargitay from ‘Law & Order: SVU’ and Benjamin is named after Brad Pitt’s reverse aging character.
Speaking about their breeds, Meredith and Olivia are Scottish Folds while Benjamin is a Ragdoll.
Not only on social media, but these furry friends have also had a special appearance in some of Taylor’s music videos, like the ‘ME!’, where all three of them feature, with Meredith and Olivia being referred to as Taylor’s daughters and Benjamin being gifted to her by co-star Brendon Urie in a later scene.

In her single ‘Gorgeous’ from her 2017 album ‘Reputation’, Taylor has even made a reference to them, with lyrics that go, “guess I’ll just go on home to my cats.”
Not only in MVs, but Olivia even appeared in Taylor’s Diet Coke commercials, where she is indeed hard to spot, among a litter of several other cats.
