SpaceX declares ‘Starship’ will be launched at an Offshore Spaceport
In his tweet, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, declares that ‘Deimos’, one of the structures, will be where Starship is launched. The construction of this ocean spaceport has begun and will be positively completed by the next year, ready for the launch. Seemingly, the spaceport is a floating structure.
It will be replacing two oil rigs dug, developed and later sold by Valaris, an offshore drilling company. They were sold to LLC for $3.5 million each and are claimed to be “ultra-deepwater semi-submersible.”
‘SpaceX’s Starship spacecraft and Super Heavy rocket represent a fully reusable transportation system designed to carry both crew and cargo to Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars and beyond.’ Starship, the first spacecraft set for the launch from Demios the coming year, can carry crew as well as ‘cargo’.
