Happy Pride: Here’s a list of Top 10 celebrities, who’ve proudly come out as a part of LGBTQ+

‘LGBTQ’ is no longer a taboo, where people fear of coming out to their loved ones and the society, for being judged and not accepted.

As the world is celebrating the ‘Pride’ month this June, and does so every year, let’s not forget how this community has excelled in different aspects of life, including the television personalities and movie stars.

Hollywood has wholeheartedly accepted many actors who are a part of LGBTQ, over the years, and they are some of the most popular celebs we have today.

Let’s have a look at such famous personalities, who have proudly come out in public, and have been supported by their fans with full strength and love-

#1 Laverne Cox

The ‘Orange is the New Black’ star is one of the most popular artist, to come out as a trans woman.

Embracing her sexuality, she told ‘Self Magazine’, “I think it’s important to be able to be like, ‘Yes, your shoulders are broad, yes your hands are big and your voice is deep and you’re really tall and people notice you, and that makes you noticeably trans, but that doesn’t make you any less beautiful. You’re not beautiful despite those things, you’re beautiful because of those things, and that has to be an active conscious process.”

She further added, “I’m sexy and I’m going to own that because I think trans women are sexy. A lot of us are sexy not despite our transness, but because of our transness. That’s just the truth.”

#2 Elliot Page

Previously known as Ellen Page, this ‘Inception’ star had come out as a transgender and a queer, via his Twitter letter for his fans, that read, “I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life. I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey. I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self.”

It further says, “I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer. And the more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive.”

#3 Miley Cyrus

After splitting up with husband Liam Hemsworth, Miley has been in a relationship with Kaitlynn Carter, and has opened up on her sexual and gender fluidity to ‘Vanity Fair’, by sharing, “We’re redefining, to be f***ing frank, what it looks like for someone that’s a queer person like myself to be in a hetero relationship. A big part of my pride and my identity is being a queer person. What I preach is, people fall in love with people, not gender, not looks, not whatever. What I’m in love with exists on almost a spiritual level. It has nothing to do with sexuality.”

#4 Ellen DeGeneres

DeGeneres has been open about her sexuality since a long time, and is known for her activism towards the LGBTQ community.

Talking about her coming out, in her sitcom ‘Ellen’ in 1997, she said, “It was surprising how many people I upset. I was a comedian, I was funny, and I just also happened to be gay, and I just got tired of hiding it.”

#5 Kristen Stewart

Stewart had come out as a bisexual woman, and doesn’t keep her relationships too private.

In conversation with ‘The Guardian’, in 2017, she said, “The whole issue of sexuality is so grey. I’m just trying to acknowledge that fluidity, that grayness, which has always existed. But maybe only now are we allowed to start talking about it.”

#6 Kehlani

Coming out as a queer woman via her tweets in 2018, Kehlani had been under speculations on her sexuality, since the release of her song ‘Honey’, in 2017, which appears to be a love song dedicated to a woman.

Porter identifies himself as a gay man, who is renowned for his fashion statements and is famously a style icon, inspiring many such men out there, who fear of expressing their love for fashion that is so gender fluid.
