Wolcott Police searches for armed suspect after shooting at I-84

Wolcott police ask people to stay at home amid a shooting that recently occurred on Interstate- 84 near  Waterbury/Cheshire town line. They are searching for an armed man and in the area of Rogers Orchards on Meriden Waterbury Turnpike in Southington. According to state police, troopers are dispatched in the area at exit 26 to investigate. Detectives from the Connecticut State Police – Western District Major Crimes Squad were also requested to respond to the scene.

The man is 31 years old and has dark facial hair, possibly a beard. It is advised to contact the police and not to follow or approach him.
