Supreme Court denies hearing of appeal questioning trans rights, a victory for the LGBT movement

In a remarkable victory for the LGBT rights movement, the Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal that questioned the rights of transgender students rights to use the bathroom of their preference.

Gavin Grimm, born a female, started to identify as male after his freshman year at school. The school board of Gloucester County in Virginia denied Grimm entry into the boys’ bathroom according to a school policy that applied to all transgender students.
.
The rulings of the lower federal courts supported Grimm’s rights to use the bathroom of his choice, under the federal law that prevents school programs from discriminating against students based on their sex.

According to the order released on Monday. Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, two conservative justices of the Supreme Court mentioned that they would have heard the case.
