COVID-19 Vaccine in Texas: How to register for it

How do I register myself for the COVID-19 vaccine?

If you are eligible for the vaccine now then, you can make an appointment with a local provider. Texas provides a searchable list of locations here but you will need to reach out directly.

Where can I get the vaccine?

If you’re eligible to get vaccinated now, you can check with a large vaccination hub and/or a local vaccine provider, like a nearby pharmacy or your doctor.

Important Information

Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines both require two doses. It’s best if you take both doses of the same company.

The timing between your first and second dose depends on which vaccine you received:

  • Moderna: 4 to 6 weeks after your first dose
  • Pfizer: 3 to 6 weeks after your first dose

Can I pre-register to receive the vaccine?

No, right now you can’t.

Who is eligible for the vaccine?

Texas is currently in Phase 1B. With previous phases, this includes the following groups:

  • People with 65 or 65+ age
  • Healthcare workers
  • Long-term care facility residents and workers
  • Adults with high-risk medical conditions
