Legendary actor Yaphet Kotto passes away at the age of 81

It’s the end of an era with the death of Kotto! Yaphet Kotto the legendary American actor who was globally recognized for his work in the movies like James Bond and Alien, breathed his last at the age of 81.

He was recognized for his best role as the villain in the 1973 James Bond movie, Live and Let Die along with his popular soap opera Homicide: Life on the Street. The actor left this world on Monday in his home in the Philippines beside his beloved wife Sinahon Thessa. The widow then took to her Facebook account to announce the passing of the legend with a heartfelt message that read, “You played a villain on some of your movies but for me you’re a real hero and to a lot of people also,”

She also added that he was a good man, a father, actor, and a husband to her who is very rare to find, and may his legendary soul rest in peace. The outstanding actor also had received an Emmy for his performance in Raid on Entebbe in the role of Ugandan President. The passing away of this legendary star brought a wave of mourning in Hollywood with fans and celebs giving out their condolences.
