Allison Janney opens up on her grief on Mom’s ending; Says, “I’m sad”

Allinson Janney was nevertheless shocked  by Mom’s cancellation, so were viewers and the show’s cast and crew. Since the news was initially announced, Janney hasn’t  much about the untimely cancellation. But that changed recently, as the actress recently opened up about the show ending and why she believes it was cancelled.

“I’m sad, you know, I wish we’d had at least another year for the writers to have that much time to ramp up to the ending. We sort of found out sooner than we thought we would hear. We thought, ‘Surely they’re gonna want more Mom.’ They decided not, and there’s so many reasons behind that. Probably money,” she revealed.

After giving her thoughts for Mom’s ending, Allison also shared a key tidbit regarding the series finale. She talked about more about her experience on the show, comparing it to her work on The West Wing.

She stated, “But I know that Chuck Lorre is writing the final episode, and we’re right now filming the third-to-last episode. And I’m having a lot of moments where I’m just standing on set and taking it in and looking at all the faces I’ve looked at for eight years. It’s really lovely to be a part of a show. As an actor, you don’t get to do that very often. I’ve been so lucky. Seven years on West Wing.  Eight years on Mom. And I have a real community of people that I love, and it’s going to be very hard to just have it, all of a sudden, it’s gone. And no matter how much I prepare myself for it, I just know I’m gonna be buckets of tears.”

The actress took to Instagram and  expressed her gratitude for being able to star on Mom for these past eight years.
