An explosion at grain elevator in Jefferson, no reported injuries

The explosion at Landus Cooperative, located in Jefferson, Iowa, that happened because of dust particles in the grain elevator caused quite damage to the property but luckily no person was injured.

The owner says that the fire was quickly brought under control by the Fire Department. The damages include a large hole through one of the walls that contained the structure, numerous grain bins got their tops destroyed, and the whole of the west side in shambles.

The roads meeting at the Cooperative Building (North Mulberry Street and Gallup Road convergence) had been closed until the fire was doused, to smoke and ashes.
