Apple’s billing and sales amount to $643 billion for the year 2020

Apple Inc. saw an increase of 24% in their billings and sales and according to experts, these figures have a lot to do with the pandemic.

The company has been recently criticised and accused by app developers for charging ‘disgustingly’ high rates and their unfairness towards smaller companies. Epic Games took the company to court for monopolising through their App Store. Apple counter-argued that the high charges ensure quality and efficiency of the applications that benefit both- developers and users.

“The number of small developers worldwide has grown by 40 per cent since 2015 — and they make up more than 90 per cent of App Store developers. The study defines small developers as those with fewer than 1 million downloads and less than $1 million in earnings across all their apps in a given year.”- The report says.
