Barack Obama expresses grief over the death of Daunte Wright

Barack Obama on Tuesday took on to Twitter to express his grief over the death of another Black man Daunte Wright, who was shot by police.

The former U.S President tweeted saying, “Our hearts are heavy over yet another shooting of a Black man, Daunte Wright, at the hands of police. It’s important to conduct a full and transparent investigation, but this is also a reminder of just how badly we need to reimagine policing and public safety in this country.” 

Daunte White, a 20-year-old Black man was fatally shot by the Minneapolis police on Sunday, sparking subsequent ‘Black Lives Matter’ protests across the United States of America.

The incident took place amid the ongoing trial of Derek Chauvin, who is charged with murder and manslaughter, in George Floyd’s death case.
