Bombardier Recreational Products Inc reserves $300 million to electrify its entire lineup by 2026
BRP the owner of popular brands like Ski-Doo snowmobiles, Sea-Doo watercraft, Ryker ATVs, and Rotax go-karts anticipates dealing with a $13 billion global power sports market that is steadily reviving to electric drivetrains and trying to position itself at the forefront of the movement.
The BRP well-known Canadian firm sets a target of spending $300 million to electrify its entire lineup till 2026. The manufacturers of watercraft, snowmobiles, ATVs, and go-karts, are all set to introduce themselves with their products subsequently in the next two years.

BRP president and CEO, José Boisjoli, framed the situation very wisely he says, “We have always said electrification was not a question of ‘if’ but a question of ‘when.” “Today, we’re very excited to unveil more details of our plan to deliver market-shaping products that will enhance the consumer experience by offering new electric options,” he added.
BRP will use a “modular electric power pack” developed by its sub-brand, Rotax, across its new lineup of electric power sports vehicles. The Company also plans to house a new production committee, $$300 million are kept aside for retrofitting Rotax’s assembly facility in Austria, as well as building a brand-new electric vehicle development centre in Quebec, where BRP is headquartered.
The BRP is always experimenting. In 2019, the company acquired Alta Motors, an electric motorcycle manufacturer, and introduced its first EV, the Rotax Sonic e-kart, Rotax Max Dome in Linz, Austria is used currently.
