Caitlyn Jenner announces filing paperwork for the post of California governor on social media
Caitlyn Jenner has decided to run for the post of the next governor of California. She has announced that she has filed all the paperwork to run in 2022.
Jenner took to Twitter on Friday to announce filing paper for the post of California governor, “I’m in! California is worth fighting for.”
The 71-year-old continued in a statement that was shared on her campaign website, “California has been my home for nearly 50 years. I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality. But for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people.”
The present governor of California is Democrat Gavin Newsom. The former Olympian even once criticized him for asking Californians to stay at home amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. On the other hand he claims that he “goes out to dinner with his lobbyist friends.”
