Carey Mulligan joins ‘Spaceman’, Adam Sandler’s Netflix movie. Screenplay by Chernobyl helmer Johan Renck and adapted by Colby Day, ‘Spaceman’ revolves around the journey and story of an astronaut.
An astronaut is sent into the space on a mission to collect ancient mysterious dust. Very soon, he finds himself drifting apart and his life on earth shattering into pieces. He tries finding help from a mysterious voice that belongs to a creature residing in the dark of his space ship from the start. The movie is an adaptation of Jaroslav Kalfar’s novel.
Adam Sandler plays the astronaut protagonist while Carey Mulligan will be seen playing his wife.
The film is set to be co-produced for Free Association by Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin, Peter Kiernan and Michael Parets and executive produced by Ben Ormand, Renck and Barry Bernardi.
Carey Mulligan hosted Saturday Night Live the last weekend and is popularly known for her role as Cassie in the Promising Young Woman by Emerald Fennell.
The story revolves around the protagonist Cassie who avenges her friend Nina’s death and sexual assault.
Mulligan received a lot of appreciation for her role in the movie as a troubled woman and the movie even garnered five Oscar nominations including the ones for Best Picture and Best Actress for Mulligan.
At the BAFTAs, this movie bagged awards for Outstanding British Film and Best Screenplay.
