Chairman of HRC curious about G-League Republicans debate

The chairman of the House Rules Committee was curious about why he seemed to be debating G-League Republicans. Kevin McCarthy, House Republican leader, did not do something to grace the House chamber with his presence, and the Republicans controlled the debate.

The resolution establishing the select committee passed and only two Republicans voted for the resolution. The Republicans brought out people at the far end of their bench. They knew their case against a select committee had been hamstrung by McCarthy himself, who got everything he wanted, including an earlier bipartisan committee proposal.

“I was hoping that maybe the Minority Leader would come to the floor and explain to us why he objected to the bipartisan commission. Why he objects to the select committee. Why he objects to get to the truth. But apparently, he’s not coming.” McGovern said.
