Chupa: Potential cast, release date, plot and everything we know so far

The fantasy adventure movie Chupa, starring Demián Bichir and Christian Slater, is set to be released in the United States. It was directed by Jonás Cuarón. It will premiere on Netflix on April 7, 2023, and was made by 26th Street Films.

This chupacabra movie that Jonás Cuarón co-wrote with Marcus Rinehart, Sean Kennedy Moore, and Joe Barnathan was scheduled to be directed in August 2020. Under their 26th Street Films imprint for Netflix, Chris Columbus, Michael Barnathan, and Mark Radcliffe produced the movie. Demián Bichir, Evan Whitten, Ashley Ciarra, and Nickolas Verdugo joined the cast in June 2021, and the movie was given the title Chupa. Beginning in August and continuing until October 2021, filming took place in many locales around New Mexico.

Chupa: What is the movie about?

According to the reports, the film is a family adventure in which little kid Alex, who is visiting his family in Mexico, battles evil scientist Dr. Quinn, who is searching for the fabled baby chupacabra that is rumored to be lying under Alex’s family’s house.

Moreover, the official synopsis of the film reads, “After discovering a chupacabra living in his grandfather’s shed while visiting in Mexico, a teenage boy and his cousins accompany the creature.”
