Colorado Governor extends statewide mask order for another 30 days

Colorado Governor Jared Polis extended a statewide coronavirus mask mandate for another 30 days on Sunday.

A new update on Colorado’s health department website stated, “Individuals are permitted to remove their masks in public indoor spaces if 80 percent of the individuals in the space have shown proof of vaccination, even if there are 10 or more unvaccinated individuals in the space.”

However, facial coverings will still continue to be mandatory in schools, child care centers, public-facing state government facilities, emergency medical settings, personal services, prisons, and elsewhere, but also added the mandate to account for vaccinated individuals.

The order states that counties recording high case counts for over a week will need to impose wearing masks for public indoor settings where 10 or more unvaccinated individuals or individuals of unknown vaccination status are in attendance.

About 2.6 million residents have been vaccinated at least once for COVID-19 in Colorado and around 1.9 million people are completely vaccinated.
