Cruella 2: Checkout the sequel’s release date, cast, plot and more

It’s official! It’s happening!

Cruella is all set to return as announced by the creators and it seems like the fans can’t keep their calm.

After the blockbuster release of ‘Cruella’ on May 28, viewers couldn’t get enough and only asked for more, as the movie ended with quite a few open pathways, hinting for a sequel.

The previous story went such, Estella turns into her wicked alter ego named Cruella, after faking her death. She then puts her evil mother Baroness von Hellman behind the bars, charging her of murder. She then later conquers the Baroness’ estate. Well, although the story could have ended right here itself, it made an intentional opening for more.

Audience were left pondering upon questions on how did Estella turn into Cruella and what made her do so, also what later happens to her imprisoned mother Baroness.

Cruella hands over a couple of her Dalmatian puppies, named Pongo and Perdita, as a gift to Roger and Anita.

Release date

Recently, on Friday, June 4, ‘Hollywood Reporter’ gave some insights about how the movie is prepping for it’s sequel that would be coming some time later, and so there is no confirmed date, as to when the sequel plans to go in floors, and probably won’t be out any time soon.

However, ‘Screen Rant’ gave us an estimated schedule of 2023, which we hope comes true.

Cast

As there can be no Cruella without Emma Stone, the ‘Hollywood Reporter’ hints towards the probability of her making a return as Cruella this time as well.

Depending on the note on how the first movie came to an end, the other original cast can return too, which may include Emma Thompson as Cruella’s mother Baroness, Joel Fry as her henchmen Jasper, Paul Walter Hauser as Horace, John McCrea as Artie, and Mark Strong as the Hellman Family’s valet John, as well as Kavyan Novak as Roger and Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Anita based on the mid-credits, along with creator/director Craig Gillespie and screenwriter Tony McNamara.

As the sequel is still under the initial days of it’s construction, no official trailer of the same has been released yet, but we hope to witness it in the coming year.

Storyline

There hasn’t been any official announcement of it’s plot yet, but we anticipate that it may begin from where Cruella left off, probably a continuation of the previous storyline.

One thing is certain, that Cruella 2 won’t be starting off with a fresh canvas, that will need it to begin all over, with an entirely new and different plot, which might also end up changing cast and characters if it does.
