Data Breach at McDonalds; Investigation shows only South Korea and Taiwan’s data ruffled

A data breach was successfully attempted at McDonald’s where files containing personal information was intervened with. According to the statement given by the company, the data accessed was exclusive to their Taiwanese and South Korean clientele. The files did not contain payment information. In Taiwan, employee’s information was also hampered with.

In their statement McDonals said that “While we were able to close off access quickly after identification, our investigation has determined that a small number of files were accessed, some of which contained personal data.” The investigation is ongoing and the company is doing its best to salvage the damages made by this hack.
