Derek to be sentenced for George Floyd’s murder
Derek Chauvin, former Minneapolis police officer, to be sentenced by the court on the charge of George Floyd’s murder after being found guilty. He has been in a high-security prison after being convicted of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. As per sources, imprisonment can be up to 30 years.
Minneapolis has been in news right since Floyd’s death got worldwide attention after the brutal murder got captured and the video went viral. This caused a nationwide protest against racism and police brutality.
The hearing at the Hennepin County Government Center, which is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. CT, will be broadcasted by Court TV.
