‘Diplo’, American DJ and songwriter, to debut as a boxer

American DJ and songwriter ‘Diplo’ is all set to gear up as a debut boxer.

Diplo would be fighting in the boxing match for Triller Fight Club in Miami, Florida on June 5.

‘Diplo’ also known as Thomas Wesley Pentz has been training day and night as a boxer and now will be officially debut his boxing match.

Since he is accustomed to practice behind the scenes, fighting it off inside an actually boxing ring with bright lights is different and might be of some difficulty.

The news of Diplo’s boxing debut would go official during an event of the Triller Fight Club in Atlanta on Saturday.

Diplo is expected to do a set on the pay-per-view card which will be headlined by YouTuber Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren, a former MMA champion.

Ryan Kavanaugh, Triller Fight Club’s owner shared with the ‘Rolling Stone’, “He came to us and said he really wants to fight. We have a good relationship with him and we said, ‘Why don’t you come to this event and play a little and then call out an opponent for the next event?’ Hopefully that opponent answers back. It was pretty much that simple.”

Triller Fight Club’s chief boxing coach said, “Diplo has been training in boxing. “He wants to fight. He has a worldwide fan base. It’s massive. It spans 100-plus countries, at least. And he wants to fight. I won’t do anything that’s not competitive, but competitive is a relative term. I’m not looking for someone that’s going to come in and overpower him, but I’m also not looking for someone that’s going to come in and underwhelm. I have to assess his skillset.”

Diplo’s Triller Fight Club’s performance will also have performances by Justin Bieber, the Black Keys, Doja Cat, Saweetie, Major Lazer, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Too $hort, and E-40.
