Director David Bruckner becomes a part of TV adaptation ‘Blackout’ based on Rami Malek podcast

Rami Malek and Aja Naomi King will play the lead in season two of the hit podcast “Blackout” as per the Deadline.

Deadline revealed more details regarding the same.

David Bruckner who directed Searchlight Pictures Sundance horror The Night House will direct this TV package too. It is being put together by Planet Of The Apes and The Greatest Showman outfit Chernin Entertainment, Endeavor Content, and the podcast’s producer QCode.

Rami Malek will serve the TV adaptation as an executive producer. The podcast’s creator Scott Conroy will adapt for TV.

It’s not revealed yet as to who will be cast for the series and a network also needs to be assigned yet. Although this is getting to be an in-demand package.

Season 1 of Blackout was made in partnership with Endeavor Audio. They had invested the money and co-distributed it. It topped the Apple podcast chart in the fiction category. It has been downloaded more than 12 million times.

In season 2 of the apocalyptic thriller will be released early this summer with Oscar-winner Malek reinstating his role of Simon Itani. Itani is a small-town radio DJ fighting to safeguard his family and community after the power grid goes off in the entire nation, upraising modern civilization.
