Dolly Parton donated $1 million for COVID-19, hasn’t gotten vaccinated yet

Dolly Parton, who’s 75, is eligible for COVID-19 vaccination. However, she hasn’t gotten the shot yet, despite donating $1 million to vaccine development.

“I’m going to get it, though,” she told CNN. “I didn’t want to jump line. I didn’t donate the money so I could be protected. I did it for everybody.

Parton was offered the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which is the highest civilian honor of America, by the Trump administration. But, Parton declined it.

“I couldn’t accept it because my husband was ill, and then they asked me again about it and I wouldn’t travel because of the Covid,” she said.

Parton has heard from the Biden administration, too, but feels like if she accepts it now, she’ll be doing politics, and she doesn’t want that.
