Dr. Fauci stresses that US must get fully vaccinated before Delta strain gets dominant

As much as a 60% bump was observed in the COVID 19 cases in the UK after the Delta Strain became dominant there. Keeping that in mind Dr Anthony Fauci, Director, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said that it is crucial that as much as feasible vaccinations be administered to citizens before the dreaded variant becomes dominant in the US.

Dr Fauci said- “In the U.K., the Delta variant is rapidly emerging as the dominant variant … It is replacing the B.1.1.7. We cannot let that happen in the United States.”

Apart from the UK, the Delta Strain has also wreaked havoc in India, millions of people were affected by the virus in the Second Wave and thousands succumbed to death.
