Gay Hairstylist Mykey O’Halloran gets help by neighbors to paint ‘Unicorn Manes’ in rainbow stripes
Hairstylist Mykey O’Halloran, 29, who is popular for his funky and vibrant hairdos bought a new beach house ‘Unicorn Manes’ on Philip Island which is a tiny Australian Community that houses a small population of about 7,000 people.
According to the ‘Washington Post’, O’Halloran decided to give an extravagant makeover to his new beige house as expected by the versatile hairstyles he creates inspired by cheesburgers and tacos.

He decided to paint it in rainbow stripes for showing off his pride of being a gay man, inspire others and spread happiness.
Mykey posted on Facebook, “I am a good person in society and I bring joy with rainbows, and no opinionated homophobic that’s opposed to the decision of how I want to live my life is going to take that away from me. This house will be rainbow, and it will be rainbow with pride.”
O’Halloran told the ‘Post’ that he was confronted and threatened by an aggressive gang of five local men on March 16, who banged at his door to stop him for transforming his house.
He further said, “They’d heard about it through a conversation with the painter who was painting my kitchen. They told me, ‘Don’t do it. Paint your house and see what happens, because next time we meet, it won’t be so nice.'”
Mykey even shared that the men threatened to kill him and called him homophobic slangs for which he went ahead to charge them with unlawful assault and threats to kill.
After the whole drama, Mykey’s neighbors have come ahead to join hands and help him in painting his house in rainbow stripes. More than 100 people flocked in holding paintbrushes on April 18.
