It is happening! The epic drama series ‘Gossip Girl’ is coming back, to steal a million hearts yet again, with a brand new spinoff season.
The American teen drama series is all set to have a reboot version, with entirely new episodes and some additions to the original cast as well.
Based on a novel series by Cecily von Ziegesar, the series wrapped up on December 17, 2012, after having completed six successful seasons since it’s debut on September 19, 2007.
Starring Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford and Taylor Momsen, as lead casts, the show gears up to return with Emily Alyn Lind, Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Johnathan Fernandez, Jason Gotay and Thomas Doherty as the main actors among a few others.

#1 Two years less for a decade’s return
It’s exactly 8 years, since ‘Gossip Girl’ wrapped up on 2012, and now the show is back again in 2021.

After having gone lowkey for eight years again, the GG website featuring the series’ anonymous blog is back on track, as being the major element of it’s promotion this time too.
It had closed down due to the frequent calumnious elite teen posts from New York, popping out on visitors phones, after the Gossip Girl’s revelation in the final episode.
#3 Let the social media do the talking!
Well, this time they will talk more, as the ‘Reboot’ plans to get an intense online promotion with extensive utilisation of social media, making it a larger element of reach and success.
#4 The cast has nine new members
We already know what the new cast looks like with Emily Alyn Lind, Tavi Gevinson, Whitney Peak, Adam Chanler-Berat, Eli Brown, Johnathan Fernandez, Jason Gotey, Zion Moreno and Thomas Doherty.
It has been confirmed that Emily Lind will be playing Audrey, a character who still desires to explore while still being in a long-term relationship.

#7 The ‘OG’s might return!
While the original series’ executive producer Joshua Safran has been in talk to get the original cast on the show, he signals that they might possibly return due to the crossover in the new story that would bring back Serena, Blair or our Chuck Bass.
The story would revolve around the same world as the previous one, thus there are chances that the new and old characters might meet.
