Grizzly bear kills one in Ovando area

A grizzly bear killed a person at a western Montana campground around 4-5 am in the Ovando area. A team of law enforcement and wildlife specialists was assembled to track the bear. Its home to almost 1,000 bears the largest concentrations in the US.

“There was an earlier contact with the bear prior to the event. The bear basically came back into the campsite. It wandered into a campsite a couple of different times.” Sheriff Gavin Roselles said.

A back-country guide was killed by a grizzly bear while fishing along the Yellowstone national park border in southwestern Montana, In April this year.
