Harvey Weinstein’s extradition gets delayed again over paperwork
Hollywood biggie Harvey Weinstein’s extradition to California has again been delayed due to paperwork issues. This is the second time there has been a issue involving the paperwork.
On April 12, it was the first time Norman Effman, an Erie County prosecutor stated that Weinstein had been indicted in California on sexual assault charges. But he had then showed a delay in the extradition process on circumstance of missing paperwork. The Los Angeles prosecutors had later on April 27 filed a new paperwork to go ahead on the court proceedings.
The extradition proceedings in California include an arrest warrant and sealed indictment. In California, The charges held against Weinstein are four counts of rape and sexual battery in California, as per the accusations from two women who say he attacked them in LA and Beverly Hills in 2013. In New York, he was convicted of criminal sexual act as in rape. These charges add up to 28 plus years in penitentiary.
He had appeared before a virtual court hearing in Erie County before Judge Kenneth Case where the new developments on the case was happening.
