Willie Nelson is an American actor, author, activist and a musician.

He was born on April 29,1933 in Abbott, Texas to Myrle Marie and Ira Doyle Nelson.

Nelson went ahead to be named as ‘The Best Entertainer of the year’ in 1979 by the Country Music Association.

Some of his early albums made him reach the peak of success where he is today. The immense critical and commercial success received by his albums ‘Shotgun Willie’ in 1973, ‘Red Headed Stranger’ in 1975 and ‘Stardust’. In 1978 made Nelson one of the most popular country music artists in the world.

Besides the plethora of superhit music, Nelson has also co-authored many books including his biography named ‘Willie: An Autobiography’ in 1988 and practices strong activism involving legalization of marijuana, setting up a “Farm Aid’ in 1985 to raise funds for farmers through various festivals, better treatment of horses and the consumption of biofuels to name a few.
