Here’s a list of winners at the Golden Globes’21!
A socially-distanced red carpet and award reception from home, this year’s Golden Globe will always be remembered…but so will be its winners and nominees. As the pandemic hit us all, the need for movies and shows to keep us sane (quite literally) surged and though an awards night doesn’t determine the stature of art, it is only fair to give credit where it’s due. Here’s the list of movies, shows, actors, and directors that made it big last night:
Best Picture Drama: Nomadland

Chloe Zhao’s film touching and realistic tale about survival won the award for Best Picture Drama. Other nominated films were The Father, Mank, Promising Young Woman, and The Trial Of Chicago 7.
Best Picture- Musical/Comedy: Borat Subsequent Moviefilm

Sacha Baron Cohen’s narrative about “United States & America” and tackling of other issues of society while tickling our funnybones was indeed impressive. Hamilton, The Music, Palm Springs, and The Prom were other nominated films.
Best Actress – Motion Picture Drama: Andra Day

Andra Day won her much-deserved award for The United States vs. Billie Holiday. Other nominees were Viola Davis, Vanessa Kirby, Frances McDormand, and Carey Mulligan.
Best Actor- Motion Picture Drama: Chadwick Boseman

Chadwick Boseman has conferred the Best Actor award posthumously for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Other nominees were Riz Ahmed, Anthony Hopkins, Gary Oldman, and Tahar Rahim.
Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical/Comedy was awarded to Rosamund Pike for “I Care A Lot” and Best Actor in the same category was given to Sacha Baron Cohen for Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.
Best Supporting Actress- Motion Picture: Jodie Foster

Jodie Foster won the award for this category for her performance in The Mauritian. Other nominees included Glenn Close, Olivia Coleman, Amanda Seyfried, and Helena Zengel.
Best Supporting Actor- Motion Picture: Daniel Kaluuya
was won by Daniel Kaluuya for his performance in “Judas and the Black Messiah”.
The most striking and historic moment of the ceremony was the Best Director Motion Picture award which was given to Chloe Zhao for Nomadland.

Best Picture in the Animated category: Soul

This award was won by Soul among the nominees The Croods: A New Age, Onward, Over the Moon, and Wolfwalkers.
Best Picture- Foreign Language: Minari

Minari won the award in this prestigious category. Other nominees included Another Round, La Llorona, The Life Ahead, and Two of Us.
Best Drama Series, Best Television Actor and Actress, Best Supporting Actress: The Crown

The Crown bagged the Best Television Actor and Actress awards for Josh O’Connor and Emma Corin respectively & Best Supporting Actress for Gillian Anderson.
Best Television Motion Picture: The Queen’s Gambit

Best Actress – Television Motion Picture
This award also went to The Queen’s Gambit actress Anna Taylor-Joy. While the Best Actor- Television Motion Picture was awarded to Mark Ruffalo for “I Know This Much is True”.
