Here’s what shows that Prince Philip was the ‘best father’ to his kids
Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, left for his heavenly abode, at the age of 99. Buckingham Palace announced his death on Friday, noting that he “passed away peacefully.”
Prince Philip was the husband of Queen Elizabeth II and Britain’s oldest and longest-serving royal spouse in 10 centuries. He was married to the queen for more than 70 years before, and soon after their wedding Prince Charles was born in 1948. The royal couple was then blessed with Princess Anne, born a year after her brother Charles. Later in 1960, the couple welcomed their third son, Prince Andrew, and in 1964 they were blessed with Prince Edward.
What Prince Charles has to say about his Parents
In an interview Prince Charles said that the people who raised him were not his parents, they were nursery workers. He also said that that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip only saw them after breakfast and Tea-time. Whereas Queen Elizabeth believed that it is best to have nannies raise her children while she was traveling, rather than bring them along.
Prince Philip was worried that his son would become “weak and vulnerable,” because Prince Charles was a very sensitive child at his young age, so he attempted to toughen him up. Pr ince Charles also stated that he felt pressured to make a decision because of his father’s demand to propose to Diana.
Charle’s godmother explained that Philip was also very concerned with Charles being spoiled. The Duke of Edinburgh felt that being tough would work to save Charles from being spoiled. So, he was a little strict to both of his eldest Childs Charles and Anne, however, Anne was reportedly a “convinced extrovert [who] could push back.”
He was really a great father that he broke the royalty law for his children
Before giving birth to their youngest child Edward in 1964, Queen Elizabeth spent some time going through women’s magazines. And the Queen learned about the benefits of having fathers involved and present for the birth of their children.
The prince was actually holding his wife’s hand as their youngest who was born on March 10, 1964, thus becoming the first royal father, at least in modern history, to be present for the birth of his child. Witnessing the birth of his son likewise meant he broke the longstanding royal tradition of not being present for childbirth.
Prince Philip was pillar of the royalroyal family, the person who kept the family together. He always tried to do better for the family and for his children which makes him legend of his kind!
