Established in 2008, to be observed annually on April 26th, the Lesbian Visibility Day gives lesbians their deserved share of acknowledgement. This day intends to voice against the lack of representation and the stereotypical judgments that the lesbians are victimized with, on a daily basis. It also encourages lesbians to cold out and own their identity and promotes their acceptance to create a protective environment for them.

This is important since according to 2020 DIVA Survey, 79% of participants felt LGBTQI men had more visibility in public than LGBTQI women.

This is a day to remind everyone to acknowledge, accept and spread awareness against the exploitation towards lesbians.
