Hundreds of Palestinians injured in Jerusalem in clash with Israeli Police
As tensions in the city continue to rise, hundreds of Palestinians were left injured after face offs with Israeli police inside the Al Aqsa Mosque on Monday.
The police has been using rubber bullets, stun grenades outside the Al Aqsa mosque, one of the holiest Jerusalem sites.
The discord resulted in violence on Friday as well, when 205 people were left injured due to the clash .
Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood is the most affected and has even drawn worldwide attention after there were 22 casualties reported last Wednesday.
It all started during a march in Jerusalem’s Old City to commemorate Israeli Armies overtaking control on Western Wall and East Jerusalem back in 1967.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu while backing the police for their management of the increasing tensions in Jerusalem in the recent weeks, stated on Monday that it was a “struggle for heart” of the city.
