Killers of the Flower Moon is a forthcoming American Western criminal drama film directed by Martin Scorsese and based on David Grann’s best-selling 2017 non-fiction book Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Creation of the FBI. The storyline revolves around a series of killings perpetrated in the Osage Nation during the 1920s when oil was discovered on native grounds. Leonardo DiCaprio, who also acts as producer, stars in the picture alongside Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone, Brendan Fraser, and John Lithgow. Scorsese and DiCaprio collaborate for the seventh time, and Scorsese and De Niro collaborate for the eleventh time.

Killers of the Flower Moon, with a $200 million budget, is reputedly the most money ever spent on a movie shot in Oklahoma. It is produced by Scorsese’s Sikelia Productions and DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions and released by Paramount Pictures. The movie will have its global debut in May 2023 at the 76th Cannes Film Festival.
