Legendary artist Bob Dylan turns 80; Here’s how fans send in love and warm wishes

Bob Dylan turns 80 today. We wish him a very happy birthday!

Bob Dylan, originally known as Robert Allen Zimmerman is an American singer, songwriter, author and a visual artist, born on May 24, 1941, in Duluth, Minnesota, to parents Abram and Beaty Zimmerman.

A legendary artist, who is regarded as one of the greatest songwriters of all times, has delivered some of the finest performances during his 60 years of fruitful contribution to the industry.

Some of Dylan’s most cherished and brilliant pieces of work include songs from the 1960s such as, ‘Blowin in the Wind’ from 1963, and ‘The Times They Are a-Changin’ from 1964. These became the well-known anthems for movements for civil rights and those against wars.

Bob was an artist who defied pop culture and produced music inspired by the society, that in turn influenced social, philosophical, political and literary campaigns.

He rose to recognition as a songwriter with ‘The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan’, released in 1963, after his debut album ‘Bob Dylan’ in 1962, filled with the goodness of traditional folk singles.

Besides music, Dylan also enjoys drawing and painting, with exhibitions in several art galleries and eight such books published since 1994.

The best-selling musician of all times, with over a 100 million records sold worldwide, Dylan has achieved several accolades which include 10 Grammys, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, a Golden Globe and an Academy Award.
