Lou Diamond Philips to be a part of Amblin Partners’ new comedy ‘Easter Sunday’
‘Easter Sunday’ is a family comedy by Amblin Partners that revolves around the life experiences of the stand-up comedian ‘Jo Koy’ and is about the celebrations of Easter Sunday.
The cast of the film includes Eva Noblezada Brandon Wardell and Tia Carrere.
Lou Diamond Philips is now selected to join the previous cast along with other actors including Gaston, Elena Juatco,Melody Butiu, Joey Guila and Rodney To.
According to Deadline, Jo Koy says, “Starting production on Easter Sunday is the culmination of a lifetime of dreaming and decades of hard work. It’s especially meaningful that we’ve been able to assemble such an incredible group of diverse and talented filmmakers and comedians to bring this slice of Filipino culture to the world.”
Lou Philips will be playing himself in the movie having a fictional character version.
‘Easter Sunday’ will be directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, written by Ken Cheng , produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich and executive producers would be Cheng, Joe Meloche, Jessica Gao, Jimmy O. Yang, Seth William Meier and Nick Reynolds.
Nominated for the Emmy Awards for a couple of times, Lou Diamond Philips is popular for his superhit roles in La Bamba, Stand and Deliver and the Young Guns series.
Philips is currently a part of the movie ‘Prodigal Son’ broadcasted on Fox and is a new author.
