Low does of aspirin can reduce the risk of ICU admission and COVID-19
According to a new study, low-dose aspirin may reduce the risk of ICU admission and even COVID-19.
As per the new research from George Washington University which says that ”the cheap and widely available pills also keep patients out of ICUs and can reduce the risk of death, probably by preventing tiny blood clots.” this was published in the journal Anesthesia and Analgesia.
Aspirin is one of the most widely available common drugs and it is very cheap which is available at just a cent per dose. Aspirin can help prevent blood clots, which is why people who are suffering with heart attack are often advise to take a small dosage of it.
Dr. Jonathan Chow, assistant professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the George Washington said .”The reason why we started looking at aspirin and covid is that in the spring we all realized that all the patients started to have a lot of thrombotic complications or a lot of blood clots that have formed throughout their bodies.”
