Madonna takes to the streets to call out ‘gun control’ as the ‘new vaccine’
Madonna showed her rage towards the latest police shootings of black children.
‘Queen of Pop’, Madonna in her latest Instagram video called for ‘gun control’ and ‘police accountability’ using the hashtags “#WAKEUPAMERICA” and “#GUNCONTROLNOW”.
Having donned a bright sky blue ski mask throughout, the video showed the singer with some unidentified people in an unidentified place.
Nearing the end of the video, the star spoke to the camera, drawing a parallel between gun control and a life-saving vaccine.
“Have you heard of this new vaccination for America? It’s going to keep us all alive, it’s going to keep us all safe,” she says. “It’s called gun control, OK? It’s called gun safety, alright? New vaccination. It should be mandatory for all citizens.”
In her subsequent post, she was more direct in making a reference to the recent police shootings of Adam Toledo in Chicago and Daunte Wright in Minneapolis in the caption, “Adam Toledo was 13 years old, Daunte Wright was 20! The Officers who killed them are only being charged with manslaughter. This is insanity. Horrific. And yet it has become normalized in our society.”
She added: “Yes-people kill people, not guns. But the vast majority of people are not enlightened and guns are too easy to own. If they were outlawed then no one would feel the need to own a gun to protect themselves from those who have guns.”
She concluded with her evident resentment towards the police, “As for Police killing innocent children. Shooting and suffocating and brutalizing innocent people…………They should go immediately to jail for the rest of there lives. No trial, no corrupt justice system.”
It is the first time, the singer has talked of gun control. She had previously posted a gif image of herself behind a bullet-shattered piece of glass.
“There have been over 130 mass shootings in the U.S. so far and we’ve only gotten to April. A Tragedy made all the more tragic because there is. Solution. It’s called Gun Control! Wake up America! History just keeps repeating itself,” she wrote.
Her follow-up post, the graphic police body cam footage of Wright’s death wasn’t well received by some followers.
