The third season of Netflix’s Regency period drama features Hannah New, who previously appeared in the Starz series Black Sails. The British actress’s agent confirmed to E! News on October 14, 2022 that she will portray Lady Tilley Arnold on Bridgerton.

The character is a young widow who “enjoys the benefits and power that come with being at the helm of her late husband’s estate, enjoying life on her own terms with financial independence and sexual freedom,” according to Deadline, which broke the news.
In addition to playing Eleanor Guthrie on Black Sails from 2014 to 2017, New also acted with Angelina Jolie as Queen Leila, the mother of Princess Aurora, in the Disney film Maleficent. She also appeared on the FX series Trust with Donald Sutherland, Hilary Swank, and Brendan Fraser.
A fresh leading man:
Season three places a different Bridgerton sibling in the spotlight: Colin Bridgerton, unlike seasons one and two, which had Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) as the leads (Luke Newton).
The leading lady:
Friend of many years Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) is all set to play the leading man Colin’s leading lady. The events of Julia Quinn’s novel Romancing Mister Bridgerton, which follows Colin as he finally understands Penelope is worth courting and falling in love with, will be followed in season three.
A new Francesca:
Since Ruby Stokes is no longer playing the role of Francesca Bridgerton, Netflix has replaced her. Stokes will be replaced by Hannah Dodd, who will take over in the upcoming season.
Greetings from the Ton:
James Phoon, Sam Philips, and Daniel Francis have joined the cast of the third season of Bridgerton, which is now in production. The performers will take on the roles of three fresh eligible bachelors who appear just as Penelope Featherington shakes off her long-standing crush on Colin Bridgerton.
What about Kate & Anthony?
Simone Ashley assured E! News that her character Kate Bridgerton (formerly Sharma) will be in season three, so she won’t be pulling a Regé-Jean Page.
“Yes, there will be a post-marriage Kanthony story for sure,” she said in March. “And I’m super excited for the world to see Nicola and Luke rock it, but also to just play with the Anthony and Kate story now that they’re loved up and they’ve kind of sorted themselves out.”
Edwina to find her Mr.Right?
Many people were curious about Edwina Sharma’s future when she turned down the opportunity to marry Anthony Bridgerton and approved her sister Kate’s engagement to the Viscount (Charithra Chandran). Charithra was asked by E! News for an update on her persona, to which she responded:
“Well, what we always say is the Bridgerton world is ever expanding. And I think one of the brilliant things about the series is that the focus changes every season. And so you know, Edwina exists in the Bridgerverse, and she’ll always be sort of associated with the Ton but I’m really just excited to see Colin and Penelope story.”
